Weekly Import Round-Up May 24th

The Weekly Import Round-Up is a short presentation of games coming from the far East right to the Occident announced all week long, showing you updates on already announced and released titles, and giving you a quick look at what and when we get these titles on console or PC.



This week:

Danganronpa Another Episode Limited Edition and Danganronpa: The Animation



Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls is taking place between Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Dangranronpa 2: Goodbye Despair as a spinoff from the visual novel series. It's an action horror adventure coming from Spike Chunsoft studios and published by NIS America. You're playing as the sister, Komaru Naegi, of the first game's protagonist Makoto Naegi. NIS America announced a Limited Edition of the game for the PlayStation Vita due out in North America and Europe this fall containing:


  • A copy of the game
  • 32 page, soft cover art book
  • 15 track, single disc original soundtrack with jewel case
  • Collector’s box
  • Bonus Item #1: Warriors of Hope & Kurokuma Set Box (Includes: 4.5″ Diameter Tie Clip, Warriors of Hope Pin)
  • Bonus Item #2: Kurokuma Tie
  • Bonus Item #3: Kurokuma Eyepatch
Also, Dark Horse licensed the manga Danganronpa: The Animation for release in the USA, starting with four volumes in March 2016.

Blade & Soul

The western world was waiting a long time for this to finally get there; Blade & Soul, a free to play fantasy martial arts MMORPG by studio Bloodlust, is coming to North America and Europe this winter as announced by NCSoft. There will be English, French, and German translations as well. I may check that game out when time comes.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 and Samurai Warriors 4-II

Koei Tecmo, publisher of both games, announced that Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3, the Hack and Slasher Omega Force, will be digitally released for PS Vita and the 3DS in Europe on June 24, whereas for North America, we have not gotten a release date, yet. You play different historical and also "What if?" scenarios, which can unlock even more game modes when finished, so there is a lot to do in this game. Also Koei Tecmo announced Samurai Warriors 4-II is coming to North America and Europe on September 29 and October 2 respectively for PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, and PlayStation Vita. A trailer with English subtitles shows you some of the characters and gameplay.

Lost Dimension

On August 28, Lost Dimension will come to Europe, and a month earlier, July 28, to North America for PlayStation 3 and the Vita. JRPG fans will love it.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation and Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation

A remake of 2013's PlayStation 3 game Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory will be released in the West as Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation with a lots of updates and more content. The JRPG is due out digitally and on retail in North America on June 30, and on retail in Europe on July 3 and digitally on July 8. A PC version will also be available on Steam in Fall this year as Idea Factory announced. Further, the release date of Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation was moved up to May 29 at 50% of the original price, $14.99 instead of $29.99.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R and Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign

After we already have gotten Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita, on May 26 (next Tuesday) it will find a place in the Steam store as well packed with 24-track album of the game's music. Arc System Works also announced Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign to be released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Europe on June 3. As one of the most beloved fighting games in North America and Japan, where it already launched, this will be embraced by a big group of people in Europe.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

Another Pokemon spin-off game is making its way to North America and Europe for the 3DS. It is due out in North America later this year in the winter, and early next year as for Europe. No further information at this point though. I'll keep you updated.

Other Stuff

Here's a list of other stuff we know about games coming to the West:
  • Dungeon Travelers 2, arriving in this year's summer/fall 2015, presents some new character classes in the new trailer
  • Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward with a few new videos (Job Actions, Dungeon Crawl, World Premiere at Ropongi Hills) and some nice music by the legend himself Nobuo Uematsu
  • J-Stars Victory VS+, to be released on June 26 in Europe, shows off two characters in a new trailer
  • Some screenshots of Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul, which will be released in Europe, the Middle-East, and Australasia in this year's fall
  • Soundtracks of classic Sega games Streets of Rage and Shenmue will get a release on vinyl
  • Square Enix released some pictures of action figure Thor and his Mjollnir
  • Konami will release an action figure of The Burning Man that stars in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  • Third DLC Resurrection F Movie Pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be released on June 9
